Getting this up really early. I'm fiddling about with Joomla, and Mrs. SnakePit and I will be off to the movies this afternoon, for a double-bill of Transformers and Live Free or Die Hard. Our daughter reckons the former is "the best film ever", while our son says the latter is as good as the original. We've learned to take their film criticism skills with a pinch of salt; we still tease SnakePit Jr. for going to see Battlefield Earth twice, and have barely forgiven him for making us sit through National Treasure. But these two films should, at least, be suitably cinematic, and hopefully we've avoid the rush by waiting a couple of weeks.

If I'm in the thread at all, it'll be late, but after yesterday, I have every confidence in our team. Fifteen hits will do that for me. We are facing Chris Young, who is largely an illusion caused by Petco: his ERA away from there is a still-decent, but manageable, 3.33. [It says a lot about the park that he's pitched 55 innings there and has yet to allow a home run] It won't be easy, certainly. Still, the win yesterday, plus the absence of Peavy tomorrow means we have a great chance to take the series, and if we can somehow steal this one, a sweep of the NL West leaders would still be on. Bear down Livan, and show that for you too, there's "more than meets the eye"...

Just for a laugh, I'm going to start tossing polls up on these Gameday Threads (you need to go into the comments to see it). Probably not very baseball related questions: certainly today's isn't. You'll have to read the comments on yesterday's Gameday Thread for an explanation of why the subject is of deep, personal significance.
