The circus comes to town again: step right up, and see the amazing swollen-headed slugger! Originally, this was thought a series likely to be one where he might pass Hank Aaron, but a miserable month for Bonds in May has killed any chance of that. Instead, we just get the column-inches, but none of the glory. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to work up the necessary indignation at the moment, so let's move on.
I'll be rather more interested in seeing how many pitches we can squeeze out of Randy Johnson this time. Last outing, it was only 61, but that was enough to get him through six innings of one-hit ball. I can understand Melvin being careful with the guy, but hopefully, that won't be the standard for the future. I'm thinking two out of three is a minimum we should want from this series, so a good start would be crucial. I'm off to IZW, so won't be about, but should get to see a bit of the game, in between bouts...
