Gameday Thread, #10: 4/11 vs. Reds

Matt Belisle, RHP (1-0, 1.50)
Micah Owings, RHP (1-0, 0.00)

With the series win already in the bag, we go for the sweep and our seventh win in a row - that would match our longest streak since the Baby Back days of summer 2003. We send our "designated winner" up, in Micah Owings, who has got thirteen victories in his last thirteen decisions, though twelve of those were in the minors. His first major-league outing, however, resulted in five shutout innings of one-hit ball, setting his own standard high.

Was browsing over at Red Reporter, to get their take on the series [incidentally, I noticed that have over a thousand comments on their Gameday Thread last night! Some day... :-)], and JD Arney said, "It sounds like Thom Brennaman was brutal. He's really not getting off to a good start with things. Guy's even bitchier than his father, which I wouldn't have thought was possible. And hell, I like Marty, but Thom doesn't have the benefit of tenure with Reds fans so he needs to tread a little lighter." So today's secondary question (thanks to npineda for that idea) is: what do we think of Darin Sutton so far? And what do we look for in commentators in general? Experience? Insight? Humor?

Anyway, perilously close to game-time, and I've got a lot of stuff to do. I'll be scurrying around for this one, in and out, commenting as and when the chance and need arises.
