It's amazing how quickly the steam can be taken out of a team. 72 hours ago, we were atop the National League West, and on a roll; now, we're reeling down in what could potentially be a death spiral. I mean, c'mon - the last time Orlando Hernandez pitched a complete game, we were in our third season. Here's the lineup we put out that day, September 16, 2000:
- Womack, SS
- Bautista, CF
- Gonzalez, LF
- Colbrunn, 1B
- Dellucci, RF
- Williams, 3B
- Counsell, 2B
- Stinnett, C
- Stottlemyre, P
How low can we go? We might see tonight, as the reeling D'backs take on the best in the NL, New York Mets. The floggings will continue until morale improves...
