Gameday Thread, #20: 4/24 vs Padres

Brandon Webb, RHP (2-0, 2.51)
Chan Ho Park, RHP (1-0, 4.86)

The good thing about Russ Ortiz is, he makes every other starter we have resemble Nolan Ryan - realising the Huge Manatee is not pitching today, is like waking up and not having a life-threatening disease. And to go from Ortiz to Webb is like waking up between the Doublemint Twins, while Keira Knightley cooks you a bacon sandwich in the kitchen. :-) [Usual ironic disclaimer applies, per Mrs. Snakepit...]

And we face Park in the Park. Or Chan Ho in Petco, take your pick. I feel good about this one. The cavernous space that is the Padres' home turf should stop fly balls from going out of there - not that many will be present to start with, given Webb's presence on the mound. Another quality start from him is almost essential, given the wheezing to be heard coming from the bullpen. But so far, he's been a total frickin' rock, and I see no reason why another quality start - and another win - is not in the cards again today.
