AZ SnakePit Fantasy Baseball: Week 3

Results

JByrnesIsMyHomie 9, AZ SnakePit 1
My, that was embarrassing. And up until Sunday, JB had the clean sweep in mind, before we pipped them in BA, to give the tiniest vestige of respectability to the score. Otherwise, it wasn't even close. I'm curling up on the sofa with a tub of ice-cream. :-)
Man of the Match: Contreras (JB) - 2 W, 1.20 ERA, 0.73 WHIP

Uk Dbacks 5, DFA'ders 5
DFA'ders played in their third successive tie, doing it with strong hitting and lacklustre pitching. Key categories were runs, which DFA took by one, and WHIP, won by UK on the back of good starts from Marquis and Lowe. by a .05 margin.
Man of the Match: Tejada (UK) - 6 R, 3 HR, 10 RBI, .536

BigLebowski 4, Browncoats 5
Vote for Pedro. That's what Browncoats will be saying, as Martinez almost single-handedly led them to victory. Apart from saves, they swept pitching, but Big fought back in the hitting categories, Thome + Hall scoring 6 runs apiece.
Man of the Match: Martinez (Brown) - 2 W, 19 K, 0.88 WHIP

?Chalino Sanchez! 3, GregSchulteOverdrive 7
A heroic effort by Ensberg was enough for Chalino, who succumbed to an all-round team performance by Greg. Their pitching was particularly strong (1.49 ERA, 0.69 WHIP), four pitchers not conceding a run. Roberts stole six bases for Chalino.
Man of the Match: Ensberg (Cha) - 9 R, 6 HR, 11 RBI, .409

The Loose Seals 5, The Fighting Amish 4
The ESPN Game of the Week proved a close match, the Amish fighting back after initially falling behind. Seals took HR by an 11-2 margin, but the pitching categories were mostly close. BA ended in a tie, enough to give Seals the win.
Man of the Match: Rodriguez (Fight) - 3 Sv, 2.08 ERA

7-2 Offsuiters 6, KarateMonkeyDeathCar 4
7-2 stormed back after two disappointing weeks, to surprise Karate with a solid win. Karate can take solace in improved pitching, though their outfield remains a cause for concern. 7-2 rode a pair of wins by Oswalt to take that category.
Man of the Match: Swisher (Kar) - 6 R, 4 HR, 8 RBI, .353

BBTNG 4, Random Fandom 6
In this all-blogger battle, Stefan pipped William, though both teams now possess identical 13-16-1 records. Random scored 40 runs behind Mench, with Figgins' stolen bases BBTNG's only tally in hitting. However, the pitching was closer: Lidge had four saves to counter Random's starters.
Man of the Match: Mench (Ran) - 5 R, 3 HR, 12 RBI, .381

ESPN's game of the week is Big Lebowski vs. GregSchulteOverdrive. Greg will use a powerhouse outfield of Lee, Wells and Rios, that has already combined for 20 homers and 50 RBIs, backed with potent pitching led by four-game winner Curt Schilling. Big counter with Greg Maddux and his 0.99 ERA, but will the loss of Derrek Lee be too much to overcome? He's replaced by Jim Thome, and they'll be hoping from good production from Biggio in the utility slot.
