After yesterday's "victory", I don't know whether to hope for another win, or simply some competence, which was all but lacking in Tuesday's game. Our bullpen was about the only section of the team to come out smelling of roses, and I doubt we'll see Valverde or Medders pitching today, both having gone two innings yesterday.

I guess Melvin must read this blog - as Otacon suggested in Tuesday's comments, no Gonzo in the #3 spot today. Though actually, no Gonzo in the starting line-up, it's Andy Green making his first start of the year for Arizona. Terrero gets to play again in center after his, er, interesting performance all round yesterday. Both on the field and in the lineup, he is the filling in a Green sandwich, with the other one (Shawn) drifting back to right. Tracy sits this one out.

The Pirates send Redman up, with his 5-14 record, which should mean...no, I can't even bring myself to say it, for fear of jinxing our hitters. I'll be around for a little while, but we're off to see The Transporter 2, so will be vanishing after the first couple of innings.

Give a little love over to the Pirates at Bucs Dugout, where Charlie keeps on trucking, even as the Pirates are now assured of their thirteenth straight losing season. But much like in Arizona, there is hope, with some decent prospects on the horizon. Maybe we'll face each other in the 2008 World Series!
