Gameday Thread, #17: 4/22, vs Padres

Redding (0-2, 4.35)
Halsey (1-0, 2.81)

Back to the friendly confines of BOB for Arizona, after a road-trip where the Diamondbacks were travelling light - they left their bats at home, and opted for toothpicks instead. Here's hoping they re-awaken tonight, as they face the Padres for the first time this season.

San Diego, many people's pre-season pick for the division, have sputtered out of the starting gate, and share an 8-8 record with the Diamondbacks. They send Tim Redding up against Brad Halsey, who has been the best surprise of the D'backs season so far, and was unlucky not to get a win against the Nationals last start.

Both teams will be looking to make a statement, but I fancy us to take the opener, with a decent offensive performance - albeit probably in front of a disappointing crowd. Looking at our straw poll, it seems that almost 40% are expecting to go to fewer games this year and that's been reflected in attendances thus far. We've already seen the record low smashed in the Colorado series, so we'll see if the prospect of the Padres brings a few more people out.
