Not really a record-setting season, #2

Continued from the previous installment, here are the pitching performances from 2005 which made it into the top 10 of the Diamondbacks' brief history. There were no franchise records set. Javy's losses, and Webb's wild pitches and hits allowed came the closest, all setting or tying the second-place mark in their respective categories.

With regard to the career lists, only two D'backs make any kind of impression: as you'd probably expect, it's Royce Clayton and Luis Gonzalez. Here are the categories in which they make the currently active top 30, and (if appropriate) the all-time top 100. Expect Gonzo to make the all-time top 100 in Walks and RBIs next year, if he sees any playing time at all - he's only 13 and 22 short at the moment, respectively. He needs 11 more GIDPs and 112 games to crack the top 100 currently, but it'll probably take a few more since other active players, for example Sammy Sosa in the former category, are also ahead of him.

Luis Gonzalez:

  • Career Games: 2163 (#13 currently-active)
  • Runs: 1219 (#15)
  • Hits: 2214 (#15)
  • Total Bases: 3783 (#11, #91 all-time)
  • Doubles: 495 (#5, #48 all-time)
  • RBI: 1251 (#14)
  • Walks: 989 (#13)
  • Singles: 1340 (#17)
  • HBP: 100 (#12, #55 all-time)
  • Sac. Flies: 85 (#11, =#60 all-time)
  • Int. Walks: 135 (#12, =#51 all-time)
  • GIDP: 177 (#21)

Royce Clayton:

  • Career Games: 1894 (#25)
  • Triples: 54 (=#17)
  • Strikeouts: 1277 (#19, #93 all-time)
  • Stolen Bases: 215 (=#25)
  • Singles: 1259 (#23)
  • Sac. Hits: 103 (#7)
  • GIDP: 197 (#11, #72 all-time)
