Nick Evans being called up to the Show
Report: Mets call up Nick Evans
According to the Binghamton Press, the injury-ravaged Mets have called up first baseman Nick Evans from Double-A Binghamton. Evans was told of the move during the ninth inning of Friday night's game in Reading, Pa., and will fly to Denver this morning to join the big-league club. The Mets apparently are reacting to the hamstring injury suffered by backup first baseman Marlon Anderson during Friday night's game against the Rockies. Evans was hitting .292 with eight homers and 31 RBIs in 45 games with the B-Mets at the time of his surprise call-up.

Nobody has indicated what his role will be, but I'd assume he will probably play in LF for the time being after pretty much everyone on the MLB roster other then Chavez (Who'll likely be in right) is hurt, he might also see some platoon duties with Delgado.
I'm sure John will have a good rant about the Mets rushing their prospects again, but I kinda like it. What is there to learn from staying down and beating up on a league in the minors (In general), better to challange the guy, no?
Thoughts/Projections?
