Patrick Corbin is one of the five: "Patrick Corbin, P, Arizona Diamondbacks "Last year, Corbin turned in some fairly solid work as a rookie in the Diamondbacks' rotation....it was Corbin who provided some stability to the back end of the rotation. In 17 starts he posted a 99 FIP that was nearly identical to that of rotation front man Ian Kennedy. "However, the Diamondbacks wanted to upgrade this offseason, and signed Brandon McCarthy, which bumps Corbin into a three-way battle for the fifth spot in the rotation... "Solution: Keep him in rotation until Hudson returns, then trade to contender looking for pitching help at deadline." Since there has been a lot of discussion about him here, I thought I'd mention that Profar is on the list of prospects.

Mikey Schwartze of MLB Dirt and Bullpen Banter scouts Jose Martinez after posting a 1.72 ERA in 73.1 IP with a 2.7 BB/9 and an 8.7 K/9. He includes vidoe of the start as well.

Eaton gets this well-deserved honor having hit. 379 for the Aces this season, with an on-base percentage of .452. Both numbers lead the league, as do his 37 stolen-bases for Reno.

Marquis has signed a one-year deal with the Twins for 3 million. Hope he has some better luck there than he did with us

Jim Joyce apparently has been demoted to the minors as MLB has announce he will not be umpiring any Armando Galaragga games this season. Just joking. They only announce that he wouldn't be presiding over any Dbacks games, just in case. I wonder what would happen if we were to let him go or traded him? Would they adjust the umpiring schedule? Hmmm...
