AZ SnakePit Yahoo Fantasy Baseball: Let The Warm-Up Begin!

Just a quick heads-up, that we will once again be running SnakePit Fantasy Baseball in 2012, through the Yahoo! Sports system. We'll be opening sign-ups round about the time that pitchers and catchers report, and I imagine there will probably be two divisions, as in 2011. Division 1, will be for the top teams there, with Mizzoula Osprey hopefully returning to defend their title. Plus, invitations to take part in the premier league will be extended to the top two players from Division 1A - that league will be open sign-up. If someone wants to step forward and offer to be commissioner of Division 1A, that'd be a start. :)

Aaaand we're back! After quite a delay, the Duel of the Diamondbacks returns. Some technical issues capped off with an accident forced the delay. A couple surgeries and stitches later, I have a good amount of feeling back in my right three middle fingers. Let's just hope this is a quick Series...
This week matches the Inaugural 1998 D'backs against the NL West Champion 2007 'Back in Red' D'backs

In an advance "Happy 10th-year Anniversary of the 2001 World Series" The Snake Showcase is back, with the second series in the First Round. For this series, the aforementioned 2001 World Champion Diamondbacks take on the Dead-pen 2010 Diamondbacks. Many (exactly half) pick the World Champs to sweep, and another 45% pick the World Champs to lose just once on the way to the Second Round.
I think Ian Kennedy, Chris Young and company have something to say about that.

Duel of the Diamondbacks First Round - '05 vs '08

Welcome one in all to the Snake Showcase! Every Wednesday I'll be bring you a new series between two Diamondbacks seasons, culminating in the Grand Finale between the top two teams in each bracket.
I set up a 14 team seeded bracket that includes every D'backs team, from the Inaugural 98 team, to Gibby's gritty NL West champs this year. I will be simulating the games on WhatIfSports.com 'SimMatchup' feature, and be adjusting the line-ups for every opposing pitcher, as well as realistically adjusting the rotation. I'll also be simming the game 5 times to gain a bit of an average (but not enough to spoil upsets). The Tourney will start out best of five (with home field adv. going 2-2-1) and the rest will be best of seven (2-3-2).

The final games are in the books, and if it wasn't quite as dramatic as the memorable slate of games we had last night, it was a very solid climax to the season.

3rd/4th place: Alabama Slammers 3, The Fighting Amish 5
7th/8th place: Blonde Streaks 8, Bad Wolf 2
9th/10th place: Ignatius J. Rallies 5, Los Wailoracles 3
