Diamondbacks Audio
SnakeSounds, 10/6: Jarrod Parker, CY and Willie B Head To Battle
After a highly-impressive start to his major-league career, Jarrod Parker's post-season debut was highly-anticipated by Diamondbacks. Unfortunately, it proved a short-lived appearance, as he retired only one of the four batters faced, being charged with a run, after leaving with the bases-loaded and one out. There will, we're certain, be much longer, better to come - possibly as soon as tomorrow, in the crucial Game 5 against the Brewers in Milwaukee. Before leaving for the airport today, Jarrod spoke to SB Nation Arizona's Seth Pollack, who was kind enough to pass the audio on to the 'Pit. There's also audio clippage from Chris Young and Willie Bloomquist.
SnakeSounds, #162: 9/28 vs. Brewers
I was just watching Tim Kurkjian on ESPN, who said he reckoned tonight was the greatest regular season slate of games in the history of baseball. Hard to argue with that. While the Diamondbacks couldn't quite repeat last night's heroics - and, to be honest, seemed to be phoning this one in for much of the time - they did score five in the ninth, to finish the regular season on a high note. Here are Kirk Gibson, Ian Kennedy looking forward to the Brewers series, grand-slammer Cole Gillespie and Miguel Montero.

Well. What can I say? That was unexpected. Nope. I got nothing else. Here are Kirk Gibson, Jarrod Parker and Ryan Roberts.

SnakeSounds: 9/26 vs. Dodgers
Meh. I'll go into a more detailed analysis of the game in the recap, though it will probably also include the word "meh". Daniel Hudson needed to throw a few more pitches in the bullpen, it seems, but it was still a fun time in the old ballpark tonight. I will be hoarse tomorrow, which is probably for the best. Anyway, here are Kirk Gibson, Daniel Hudson, Justin Upton (explaining why he was a late scratch) and newest D-back Mike Wazowski. Ok, it's Mike Zagurski, but I trust his theme music will be "Put That Thing Back Where It Came From Or So Help Me." I will be getting a lot of mileage out of this, so you might as well get used to it... Recap to follow.

SnakeSounds: 9/25 vs. Giants
That was a lot of fun. Sweeping the Giants in front of a packed house made for an excellent final SnakePitFest, despite a certain "ace's" decision to fire a fastball at the skull of our best hitter. Yeah...purely accidental... Given Lincecum had, over his career, hit one batter every 176, pardon me if I don't believe a sudden loss of control against the MVP on the team who dethroned his team as World Series champions, in the last game they face us. And judging by the 42,000 boos when Timmeh came to bat, neither did anyone else. We were very surprised there was no action in return, but making Lincecum a 2011 loser is certainly pleasant. Here are Kirk Gibson, Josh Collmenter, J.J. Putz and team physician Dr. Michael Lee.

SnakeSounds: 9/24 vs. Giants
As noted in the Gameday Thread, tonight's power outage was caused by the last of the Giants fans climbing off their World Series bandwagon, and turning the lights off. However, said bandwagon is simply re-routed for Arizona. Biggest margin of victory this season for Arizona, and Ian Kennedy cruises to finish at 21-4, one of the best all-time W-L records of any National League pitcher. To quote Drew Barrymore from Charlie's Angels: "And that's kicking your ass." Here, to discuss this is more detail, are Kirk Gibson, Ian Kennedy and Bryan Shaw.

SnakeSounds: 9/21 vs. Pirates
Well, that was a little closer than expected. When we were 8-1 up after three, I didn't expect to see the tying run come to the plate in the eighth inning. Still, the end result is what matters, and that end result is that we can clinch the division either by a) beating the Giants any game this weekend, or b) not playing again, if they lose tonight and tomorrow. Either are fine: option a) would be less stress-inducing, though also a bit of an anti-climax. Whatever. Here are Kirk Gibson, Wade Miley, Miguel Montero, Chris Young and J.J. Putz on this afternoon's blow-out that wasn't quite.

SnakeSounds: 9/20 vs. Pirates
Well, our magic number today is one less than it was yesterday. Admittedly, not because of our own efforts: Daniel Hudson was meh, David Hernandex was meh, and the offense was meh-squared until they were 5-1 down and decided to keep getting the tying run into scoring position, then leaving it there. Except for the ninth, which was just wrong. But the net result is: three. This thing could still be over before the Giants even arrive in Phoenix, which would be for the best, as far my digestive tract is concerned. Here are Kirk Gibson, Daniel Hudson, Willie Bloomquist, and discussing the unfortunate news from earlier today, Derrick Hall and Ken Kendrick.
