Trouble with the round table
My SBN account was evidently registered to an old email adress that I no longer use or check. I had been checking my gmail account all day Sunday. I have changed the email in my profile to the correct one. That said... the email went out at 5:30 last night, and the round table was due at 9am this morning. I worked from 5-12 last night, went home and went to bed. I wish the email had gotten sent out earlier because I might have thought to check the yahoo account eventually. Like I said, I had been checking my email all day. Sorry.
Trivia: Cowgill bats RH, throws LH. That's rare. . . .
I somehow missed it (I blame it on the heavy drinking :-) ) but Colin Cowgill this year became only the 41st position player since 1901 to bat righty and throw lefty. That's not with some minimum PAs or games or anything. That's everyone who has appeared in at least half their games in the field. That's including 8 guys with fewer PAs than Cowgill has accumulated already.
BTW it is much more common in pitchers as there have been 442 of those.
BTW2 - one such player had a significantly better career than any other "bats R/throws L" position player. Can you name him?

Came across this on b-ref: IPK just became the 6th DBacks pitcher to win 15.Can you name the other 5?
Even a non-DBacks fan should get 4 of the other 5 but the 5th one is a little tougher. I have to admit I missed it until I looked it up.
BTW, here's to hoping Hudson becomes number 7 in a couple weeks. . . . . .
Petco Park, Qualls and SF Giants fans
After 9 innings of ball the score was 3 to 3 today in SD vs. the Giants. I had already saw that the DBacks had won 4-1 over LA so I was hoping for a SD win. Needless to say after Heath Bell's poor showing the Padres brought in Qualls. I'm sure by now you saw the result of that. Watching the Padres today brought back memories of when the Dbacks sucked. I tried my best to heckle the Giants and even referred to Wilson as "Lady Gaga's brother" but the Giants fans we're out in full force and drowned out any opposing heckling. I kept hearing things like " We got the ring, we are the world series champs" so on and so forth. Though it was a fun time I think that I now loath Giants fans as much as Dodger fans, Oh, and lots and lots of men seem to like the armpit like hair that is growing on Brian Wilson's face. Something odd about men telling me that I should fear another mans beard.......And with that I leave you with this I better not catch you in Phx you pop star wanna-be Wilson,.
Quick Fantasy Baseball question
I have a quick question, just to see what your thoughts are. In a league I have Gordon Beckham and Kelly Johnson (both were keepers), I only have 1 closer (Axford), want another one. This guy proposed a trade Leo Nunez from the Marlins for Beckham. Becks had a down season last year, and Kelly had a great one. Would you counter offer Nunez for Johnson, or pull the trigger
please take the DBacks bias out, I'm trying to as hard as I can, but it's hard to do, I have Drew, Upton, CY, Hudson and Haren (still miss him) on my team.
