Goldie 2, Stanton 3: At least one Marlin soars

It's a truism in baseball that there's always one guy on the other team about whom you say, "Don't let this guy beat you." Well, "that guy" beat the Diamondbacks tonight. Twice.

Diamondbacks 2, Marlins 3

Patrick Corbin took a no-hitter into the sixth, and allowed two hits in eight innings of work. But an inexplicable desire to pitch to Giancarlo Stanton cost Corbin his 10th win - he got a no-decision, but we lost for the first time with him pitching.

The game begins somewhat unsatisfactory as Parra and Gregorious make two quick outs, but a walk from Goldschmidt and a home-run from Montero make it 2-0 in favor of the Dbacks. The game quiets...

Diamondbacks 4, Padres 6

One bad inning doomed the Diamondbacks, as the Padres used a five-run fourth to comeback and clinch the series against us. Arizona will try to avoid the sweep tomorrow

Preview: Marquis match-up

After the power outage - indeed, outage of almost all offense - last night, Arizona will regroup against San Diego at Petco this evening, and try to even the series behind Wade Miley.
