Diamondbacks Game Reports

16

Diamondbacks 1, Rockies 4: Deja Review

Early pitching trouble for Cahill and a lackluster offense spelled doom for the Diamondbacks on Wednesday evening.

7

Dbacks 4, Rockies 5: Angel of Death

The game starts out with the Dbacks going down 1-2-3 and so do the Rockies in their half of the inning. Things get, uh... Rocky in the bottom of the 2nd when Troy Tulowitzki hits a double to...

21

Diamondbacks 5, Rockies 1: St. Patrick's Day

You thought that was March 17th? We're petitioning the Catholic Church to change it, as Patrick Corbin threw his first career complete game, a dominating 10 K performance.

1

Play of the Year Nominee: Miggy to Josh to Josh

We may not have completed the sweep in Florida, but the later innings did have an amazing defensive play on a bunt attempt.

44

Diamondbacks 1, Marlins 0: McCarthy CGSO

Brandon McCarthy pitched a complete game shutout, the first for a Diamonbacks starter this season, and Gerardo Parra gave just enough offensively and defensively for the D'Backs to take the series from the Marlins.

19

Diamondbacks 9, Marlins 2: Friday Night Fish Fry

Behind the power of Paul Goldschmidt and the groundball power of Trevor Cahill, the Diamondbacks routed the Marlins on Friday night. Goldschmidt hit two home runs off Kevin Slowey, and Chaill pitched 8 innings for the win.

15

Braves 3, Diamondbacks 5: Struggles and Doubles

Ian Kennedy struggled with his command this afternoon, but kept his team close enough to come back after he'd left the game. The Diamondbacks scored four runs in the fifth inning off of Atlanta's Tim Hudson to take two of three from the Braves.

10

D-backs 2, Braves 0: Patrick + Didi Gre-Glorious

What a difference a day makes. This evening, Upton was held hitless, and the product of another KT trade drove in both runs for the D-backs, with Patrick Corbin blanking the Braves.

3

Braves 10, Dbacks 1 - Miley's Meltdown

Justin Upton went 4-for-5 with a two-run home run in his return to Arizona. Atlanta's struggling offense capitalized on two innings of a wild Wade Miley to score seven of the evening's runs. A Paul Goldschmidt homer was the Diamondbacks' only run.

4

Phillies 3, Diamondbacks 1: NO WAY GARY

The five-game win streak of the Diamondbacks came to an end tonight. Cliff Lee pitched well, and a late chance never materialized for a D'backs loss. Trevor Cahill also pitched well, but couldn't go past five innings and took the undeserved loss.

D-backs 3, Phillies 2: Adrenaline? It's over-rated

Arizona picked up their 10th one-run victory of the year tonight - they had only 15 all last season. It's beginning to feel curiously...normal?

4

Diamondbacks 3, Dodgers 2: Goldschmidt.

Clayton Kershaw took the mound on Wednesday night, hoping to bring an end to the Dodgers losing streak and avoid being swept in front of the Los Angeles crowd. However, Wade Miley and Paul Goldschmidt had some other ideas.

33

D'Backs 9, Dodgers 2: Dodgers Bagged and Tagged

The D'Backs took game one of the three-game series behind Trevor Cahill's pitching and hitting and Carl Crawford's fielding. Paul Goldschmidt and Cody Ross had home runs as the D'Backs routed the Dodgers.

1

D-backs 1, Padres 5: Kennedy hung out to die

Between the first and last outs he recorded, Ian Kennedy was dominant, allowing one hit in 5.2 innings. Unfortunately, before and after those...

23

Diamondbacks 8, Padres 1: Thank Blork, A Win!

The D'Backs snapped a four game losing streak and won a game by more than one or two runs for the first time in since ever. Patrick Corbin pitched well as the D'Backs tie the series with the San Diego Padres.

5

Diamondbacks 6, Giants 9: Swept

The Diamondbacks bullpen stumbled again on Wednesday night, giving up a three run home run to Brandon Belt in the eighth inning. The loss left Arizona on the losing end of their first sweep this season.

1

D-backs 4, Giants 6: Inning of Sin > Inning of Win

I don't know which is more irritating. A game which was out of control from the beginning, or one which looked out of control, came back to look promising, then melted down in a welter of late walks. Hey, I'd have had to watch it anyway, I suppose.

21

Dbacks 4, Rockies 2: First Place (Tied)

Today, the Dbacks would go for the series win over the Rockies. Patrick Corbin would be on the mound for the Snakes, and former Snake Jon Garland for Colorado. Who would win out? Read on to find out! Or just look at the headline...

11

Diamondbacks 3, Rockies 2: Walk-Off Again!

The Diamondbacks improved to 6-0 in extra innings thus far this season, and took game three of the four game series against the Rockies on a walk-off Cody Ross sac-fly in the tenth.

7

Dbacks 6, Giants 4: A Gregoriously Golden Night

Dbacks 6, Giants 4: An extra inning thriller.

6

Diamondbacks 4, Giants 5: Giants' Jack The Killer

Our first match-up with our divisional rivals started off well, but the last couple of innings didn't quite go as planned. Here are the gory details...

4

D=backs 3, Rockies 4: We Prove To Be The Dopes

I'm recapping tonight, since Clefo is participating in a vintage baseball tourney. It's not much stretch to claim that his team probably played better than the D-backs, especially early. Gibson and Ross were ejected, though we showed late spirit.

3

Dbacks 1, Rockies 3: Offensive Blackout

The Diamondbacks were defeated by the Colorado Rockies in what was a very low-scoring game Coors Field. The two teams combined for eight hits and 18 strikeouts. Ian Kennedy wasn't bad, but a Troy Tulowitzki's home run was plenty of offense.

61

Diamondbacks 6, Yankees 2: Suck It, Zack Hample

We may see longer games this season. But I doubt we'll see a weirder one. Arizona blew another lead in New York, but the veteran presence of Cody Ross and Eric Chavez came up trumps, and we salvaged the series finale.

12

Diamondbacks 3, Yankees 4: A Miley Too Far

Wade Miley made a strong start for the Diamondbacks tonight, holding the Yankees scoreless through six innings. The seventh proved to be his undoing, though, and the bullpen couldn't rescue him as Arizona fell to New York, 4-3.

9

Diamondbacks 2, Yankees 4: Robinson Ca-OH GOD-no

Brandon McCarthy and Ivan Nova had a "Who can throw the most pitches!" contest tonight, and Nova came out somewhat better. Robinson Cano hit a three run homer in the fourth inning to give the Yankees the edge.
