AAA: Reno - Rained Out
AA: Game 1. Mobile 6 Pensacola 8. Zack Godley's second start for Mobile didn't go so well when he gave up solo runs in the 1st and 2nd innings then got beat up for 5 more in the 5th before being lifted. The offense tried to rally with 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th to cut the lead to 8-6 but that was as close as they got. Zack Borenstein, Gerson Montilla and Socrates Brito each drove in a pair of runs while Jack Reinheimer and Ronnie Freeman each had a couple of hits.
AA: Game 2. Mobile 5 Pensacola 3. In the late game Gabriel Guerrero hit a walk-off 2-run homer in the bottom of the 9th to break a 3-3 tie and earn the split. Troy Marks started and went 4 innings allowing 2 runs. The bullpen only allowed one more run with Silvino Bracho pitching the 8th and 9th to get the win as he struck out 4. Rudy Flores went 2 for 4 with a double.
A+: Visalia 6 @ San Jose 2. Blake Perry pitched better than he did in his last start when he didn't get out of the 1st inning but he still showed some control issues in spite of only allowing one run over 5 innings. He walked 5 but did strike out 7. Once again the reliable Rawhide bullpen did the job with 4 shutout innings allowing one hit and striking out 5. Mitch Haniger led off the game with a home run, his 4th. Domingo Leyba had 2 hits including a double, Kevin Cron drove in 2 runs and Jamie Westbrook had 2 singles and a walk.
A: Kane County 4 @ Wisconsin 5. The Cougars' winning streak ended at 10 but it took 11 innings to beat them. Nick Baker did his job as starter allowing just a solo home run in the 5th. The offense tallied 3 in the 6th and seemed headed for a win until Jose Martinez gave up a walk and a 2-run homer in the 8th that tied the game at 4-4. They lost it in the 11th when Luis Ramirez gave up a bases-loaded infield single. Chuck Taylor went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI to lead the offense. Colin Bray had 2 doubles and Ildemaro Vargas a couple of singles.
A-: Hillsboro 2 @ Everett 1. Cody Reed delivered an overpowering performance and the offense did just enough to get him the win. Trevor Mitsui did all the work on offense with a double, a home run and 2 RBI. Taylor Clarke pitched 2 shutout innings and Myles Smith got his 3rd save in spite of allowing a solo home run.
