AAA: Reno 2 Albuquerque 5. Andrew Chafin had a pretty good game going until the 7th when he allowed a 3-spot that broke a 2-2- tie. He finished with 5 runs allowed on 9 hits with 6 strikeouts. The offense was pretty anemic with 6 hits, 2 by Andy Marte and 2 by Mike Freeman.
AA: Mobile 3 Jackson 2. Mobile upped their record to 64-40 behind a good game from Michael Lee who gave up 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits over 5+ innings. The bullpen kept a slim 3-2 lead intact with 3.1 innings of shutout relief from Cody Wheeler, Seth Simmons, Jimmie Sherfy and Kaleb Fleck. The offense scored all 3 runs in the 5th capped off by a Jake Lamb RBI single.
A+: Visalia 6 San Jose 4. The Rawhide got things started in the first with a solo home run by Raul Navarro followed by a 2-run shot from Brandon Drury, his 19th. San Jose tied it in the 6th but Visalia took the lead for good in the 8th on Kevin Medrano's 2-run triple. Brandon Sinnery was pretty good allowing 4 runs (3 earned) in 6 innings and the bullpen finished it off with 3 more zeros. Enrique Burgos pitched the 9th for his 21st save. Ronnie Freeman went 2 for 2 with a pair of walks and Socrates Brito added a couple of singles.
A: South Bend 4 @ Clifton 1. Sean Furney threw 6 strong innings allowing 1 run on 6 hits for his 7th win. The bullpen was also very good adding 3 shutout innings with Sinvino Bracho getting his 21st save that featured a pair of strikeouts. All the offense came from a couple of 2-run homers, one by Daniel Palka and the other by Daniel Bowman. Stryker Trahan had 2 doubles and 2 strikeouts while Andrew Velazquez went 1 for 5 and a caught stealing.
A-: Hillsboro 4 Boise 3. The Hops rallied in walk-off style in the 10th inning on a Pedro Ruiz 2-run homer with 1 out. Boise had taken the lead in the top of the 10th off closer Zac Curtis during his second inning of work, though the run was unearned due to an error by none other than Pedro Ruiz. So he made up for that error in a big way. Starter Nick Baker went 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs on 8 hits with 2 strikeouts.
R: Missoula 8 @ Helena 10. The Osprey dug themselves a deep hole when the pitching gave up 4 runs in the 5th and 4 more in the 6th, and they couldn't overcome that. Tyler Bolton couldn't get out of the 5th and Jency Solis made it worse when he couldn't get out of the 6th when all the runs were scored. The offense did crank out 15 hits with Kevin Cron hitting a 3-run homer and Yosbel Gutierrez hitting a 2-run shot. Fernery Ozuna went 3 for 5 as did Dane McFarland. Justin Williams went 2 for 5 with a triple to remain at .400.
AZL: Dbacks 2 Cubs 12. Pretty ugly game with Felipe Perez, Rodrigo Takahashi and Anthony Basora all getting knocked around. The offense only came up with 7 hits, 3 by Henry Castillo that included 2 triples, and 3 more by a rehabbing Cliff Pennington.
