Diamondbacks 4, Dodgers 6

Victor Decolongon

Dan Haren hurt the D-backs with his bat more than he did with his arm, and the Dodgers walked away with yet another win over Arizona this season.

The game started really well for the Diamondbacks, with a double off the bat of DiDi Gregorious to lead things off and then a two-run blast from Paul Goldschmidt to jump out to an early lead. But Los Angeles pitcher Dan Haren calmed down after that and gave up just one more run over the next six innings en route to his seventh win of the year.

Josh Collmenter took the mound for the D-backs tonight and looked good through the first two innings, but ran into some trouble in the third. Dee Gordon turned on a high and inside fastball and smoked it over the short porch in right field to tie the game up at two at that point. The Dodgers did the brunt of their work in the fourth inning, one run coming off an RBI single from Matt Kemp, and another three with a Haren bases-clearing double.

Martin Prado was able to jump all over a cut fastball from Kenley Jansen in the ninth for his third home run of the season to cut the lead down to two, but that's all the noise Arizona made and the D-backs dropped their fourth straight heading into tomorrow's day game.
