No Aaron Hill, but doesn't appear to be anything significant there, with reports indicating Gibson is just giving him a day, after he had to be lifted from the night-cap, following Aaron fouling the ball off his ankle.

The Padres gave McCarthy his first, and so far only, win of the season to date, when he faced them at Petco on May 3rd. He went seven shutout innings, blanking them on three hits and a walk. However, the next night, Tyson Ross was almost as good against the Diamondbacks. He allowed one earned run over his seven innings, on seven hits and a walk, but got a no-decision, even though San Diego avoided being swept by Arizona, winning the series finale that afternoon, 4-3. However, the total margin of victory in those three games was only four runs, so there doesn't seem to be much between the two teams.

If we seem to have been seeing a lot of right-handed starters lately... That's because we have. In the past four weeks, we have faced two left-handers: Clayton Kershaw on May 17, and the White Sox's Jose Quintana on May 10. We beat both of them. So far this year, only the Padres have faced a higher number of RHSP: however, tomorrow will see both sides rolling out a left-hander. This might have impacted our offense, which has a number of hitters who crush lefties: Ross, Trumbo and Goldschmidt. However, it doesn't seem to have happened yet, with the team's overall OPS against left-handers a mere nine points bettr than against right-handed pitching.
