D'back offense spoils Brandon McCarthy's 12 K performance. Phillies score one in the 1st on two singles. They score another in the 6th on Chris Owings throwing error. AJ Burnett stifled the D'back bats by getting 8 K's and giving up only 5 hits. Jonathon Papelbon closes it out in the 9th for the save.
Where do you begin? I know the season is still early, but this team stinks right now. As a fan, you want to cheer on the home team but there's not much to cheer for. Starting pitching has been great the last several games. Either we cannot get the timely hit or the relief pitching does not come through or the defense let's you down. Today's game is a perfect example. Brandon McCarthy did a masterful job. If you hold the other team to 2 runs (one unearned), your offense should be able to pick you up. Did not happen. Pitching, defense and offense have yet to really put it all together.
The end of the Chicago series and the first Phillies game gave us a glimmer of hope. Then the meltdown on Saturday (the booing of Cahill was soooo loud) and the poor offensive display today. So many thoughts from so many places on how to fix this mess. Fire coaches, fire the GM, trade players, sit down struggling starters, bring up players, send down players, use a hypnotist and so on. Is the best idea to do nothing? Will time allow the players to relax and play great baseball? Give me your thoughts D'back nation. Let's Rock the Rockies!!

Still missing the

We'll be back tomorrow, as the Rockies come to town, and don't forget, it's the SnakePit Round Table tonight, as we pick over the bones of the past week.
