Three cheers for a Tie

So another season is here and the Diamondbacks failed to address their need for a "top of the rotation" starter. They also got rid of Tyler Skaggs and their best power hitting prospect in order to get a corner outfielder who is not an outfielder.

I see this and other moves made by this front-office as questionable at best. If there is an overall game plan here, I am at a loss to see it. With the Giants and Dodgers firmly established at the top of our division, the prospects for a diamondback postseason and 2014 look doubtful.

Two recent spring training games against Cleveland and San Diego have set me a thinkin: Why not petition Maj. League Baseball to allow regular season ties? Let's face it. We just aren't going to win more than half of our games anyway. let JJ Putz/ David Hernandez off the hook the middle of their latest late inning meltdown. Call this bad boy a draw and we can celebrate our competitive ballclub.

What better way for our manager and general manager to enjoy their newly signed contract extensions then with 10 or 15 low pressure major-league ties on their record?

Thoughts? Opinions?
