D-backs Announce 2014 Radio Broadcast Schedule

The Diamondbacks have announced their radio broadcast schedule for the 2014 season, which includes all 162 regular season games and 10 Spring Training games. In Spring Training, fans will be able to hear 17 exhibition contests that will be carried either on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, News/Talk 92.3 KTAR or on the web.

The first broadcast of the spring will be February 26 at 1:10 p.m. when the D-backs open up Cactus League action against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. The D-backs' game on Mar. 28 against the Chicago Cubs will be broadcast on News/Talk 92.3 KTAR. All other Spring Training Games will be broadcast on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.

Greg Schulte, who has been behind the mic for every major moment in D-backs history, returns to handle play-by-play duties for his 17th season, while former big league pitcher Tom Candiotti enters his ninth season as the D-backs' radio color analyst. Jeff Munn enters his 14th season as a member of the D-backs' broadcast team, serving as the secondary radio play-by-play announcer and pre- and postgame show host. The broadcast team will make the trip to Sydney, Australia to broadcast both games on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.

The D-backs will continue their offseason show, "D-backs Hot Stove" hosted by Schulte and Munn, throughout Spring Training featuring special guests that include D-backs players, coaches, executives and local and national media members that cover the team and the game of baseball. The show keeps fans up to date with news from around the game of baseball and how each move affects the D-backs.

Returning in 2014, is a half-hour postgame talk show called "Diamond Talk." The show, hosted by Munn, will follow the network postgame show after most regular season home games, adding an additional 35 hours of D-backs programming again this season. "Diamond Talk" will include analysis of the game and interviews from the clubhouse, while Munn will be joined each night by another member of the D-backs broadcast team. Fans will be encouraged to interact with the show via social media. Munn will also host "D-backs BP Show", a pregame show that starts half an hour before first pitch that features interviews, analysis and late-breaking news from around Major League Baseball.

This season will also offer popular weekly shows on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, featuring D-backs Manager Kirk Gibson, General Manager Kevin Towers and President & CEO Derrick Hall. Beginning in mid-March, Gibson will call-in each Tuesday at 2:30PM to Burns & Gambo while Towers and Hall will be a part of Doug & Wolf at 8:15AM each Wednesday (Towers) and 8:45AM each Thursday (Hall).

On the Spanish-language side, broadcasts include all 162 regular season games and two Spring Training games on KSUN La Mejor 1400 AM. The first Spring Training game to be broadcasted in Spanish will be March 9 when the D-backs host the San Diego Padres at 1:10PM. It will be the first radio broadcast with former D-backs pitcher Rodrigo Lopez serving as the Spanish-language broadcast analyst. Lopez will join Oscar Soria, who returns for his 16th full season as the play-by-play voice on D-backs Spanish-language broadcasts. Richard Saenz also returns for his 12th season in the D-backs' radio booth, working as a fill-in color analyst.

Lopez, Soria and Saenz will travel to Australia in March to broadcast both games held in Sydney, Australia live in Spanish on KSUN La Mejor 1400 AM and the D-backs Spanish Radio Network. The D-backs Spanish Radio Network consists of seven stations in Sonora, Mexico and Tucson. All seven stations will carry each D-backs weekend games for a total of 52 games on each station, including two games in Sydney, Australia.

New in 2014, the D-backs will choose six kids to be a part of the Sanderson Ford Cronista Infantil, in which once a month throughout the season one lucky kid (ages 8-12) will be a guest on the D-backs' Spanish-language radio broadcast alongside Lopez and Soria.
