The main problem with the Diamondbacks in the second half has been their inability to put together a consistent run of good performances. They haven't won more than three games in a row since the All-Star break, but have a chance to do so tonight - and with their staff ace on the mound, couldn't ask for a better pitcher. However, they are facing Greinke, who is the best Dodger starter they will see this series, following the news that Clayton Kershaw is being "rested", and so will not make his scheduled start tomorrow. That certainly improved the chances of us staving off LA long enough for them to win the title somewhere else.

After last night's victory, we need to take two of the three remaining games in order to accomplish that, so this evening's contest remains very important toward that end. I haven't seen the Dodgers' line-up, but if it's anything like the one we saw last night, it's not one which should scare Corbin offensively, and tonight's match-up has all the makings of another pitchers' duel, and quite possibly another one-run game. If so, it'll likely be decided by who makes the fewest mistakes, and which team is better able to capitalize on them. We'll be in attendance at Chase for SPF [presented by Asteroid], so am certainly hoping it's us.

Here's a good cause to support tonight: the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation has teamed up with FOX Sports Arizona tonight to help raise money for Phoenix Children's Hospital throughout the entire broadcast. Fans who call into the broadcast hotline (602.462.3899) and done at least $44 will get a limited-edition Paul Goldschmidt keepsake print and two lower-level tickets to a 2013 D-backs home game. Phone lines open during the pregame show starting at 6 p.m. and will remain open until the prints are gone or until the end of the post-game show. Only 2,500 limited-edition Goldschmidt prints are available, however, donations will be accepted at any time.

In addition, 15 lucky fans will win Goldschmidt autographed memorabilia -- and one lucky fan will win a Meet and Greet with him. Paul and his wife, Amy, frequently visit patients and families at Phoenix Children's Hospital, an organization close to their heart. The Goldschmidts visited Phoenix Children's Hospital last week to help bring awareness to Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and during the telecast, Jake Harvey will join Steve Berthiaume and Bob Brenly in the booth, to talk about the support he received from the Goldschmidts while he was a patient at Phoenix Children's Hospital undergoing treatment for leukemia.
