Both Mobile and South Bend lost their bids to win their respective league titles this weekend. Mobile lost a Game 5 showdown with Birmingham after rallying from a 2 games to none deficit with consecutive wins on Friday and Saturday. South Bend was swept 3-0 in their 5 game series. It makes for a title-less season for Dbacks affiliates after winning three championships last year.
It also marks the end of the minor league season for 2013 and there were plenty of highlights and lowlights. We'll have some articles coming up reviewing the season for each team regarding how our prospects did--who took steps forward and who took steps back.
It was a fun year and I enjoyed bringing all the action to you. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. It's a long wait now to find out who gets promoted, who gets released and who may even make it to the show. We've got a handful of kids debuting right now and hopefully some of them stick. We never did get to see our top prospect in Archie Bradley and his future is just one of the many questions yet to be answered.
Thanks again for following along and we'll look forward to Minor League Round-Up again in 2014.
