The 2013 Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be the 84th edition of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. It will be held on Tuesday, July 16, at Citi Field in Queens, New York City, the home of the New York Mets. This will be the first time that the Mets have hosted an All-Star Game since 1964, their inaugural season at Shea Stadium, and the ninth time the All-Star Game is held in New York City. The game was last held in New York City in 2008, when the old Yankee Stadium hosted it in its final season before being demolished.
The final set of voting had Paul Goldschmidt sitting second behind Joey Votto as the starter at first-base. The gap there is likely too large to overcome, but he seems very likely to be selected either by manager Bruce Bochy, or get voted in by the players. Patrick Corbin is the other Diamondback who would seem to have a decent chance, as his 2.49 ERA is currently seventh-best in the league among qualifying pitchers. Fringe possibilities include Gerardo Parra and...er, that's probably it. Still, stranger things have happened.
The show starts at 3:30pm, Arizona time.
