Not that we haven't been talking about him all year but Brandon Drury continues to produce for South Bend as he had another good game last night. he went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and an RBI. His month of July is proving to be his best month of the season with a .362 average, 12 doubles, 18 RBI and a .941 OPS. Drury has probably done enough that a case could have been made for a mid-season promotion to Visalia, especially in light of Jake Lamb's injury which has kept him out most of the year. lamb is currently playing in some rehab games in the AZL league and is due back soon, so that does kind of block Drury again. Considering Drury still hasn't turned 21 yet he'll spend his 21-year-old season in Visalia next year.

Triple A: Reno 7 Tacoma 6. The Aces won in walk-off style on an error off a Matt Davidson grounder that scored Chriw Owings who had singled earlier. Nate Adcock had an okay outing allowing 4 runs in 6+ innings. Kevin Munson gave up a run and loaded the bases in the 9th with one out, and Eury De La Rosa got the blown save when a groundout plated the tying run. Reno is already dangerously close to overusing their new relief toy in Munson as he's been used 4 times in the last 6 days. Juan Rivera was the offensive star going 4 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI. Josh Wilson hit a 2-run homer in the 6th and Chris Owings added 2 more hits.
Double A: Mobile 0 @ Pensacola 2.David Holmberg had a fine overall outing, but the single runs he allowed in the 1st and 2nd innings were the difference as the offense got shut out on 4 hits. Holmberg got through 7 innings allowing just those 2 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks while striking out 2.
High A: Visalia - Off Day
Low A: South Bend 3 West Michigan 4. Blake Perry surrendered 3 runs (2 earned) in 3+ innings and the bullpen did wel to allow just one more the rest of the way. Kyle Winkler pitched 4 innings in relief allowing the one run while striking out 11. The offense was only able to manage 3 runs led by Brandon Drury who went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and an RBI. Andrew Velazquez went 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored.
Short Season A: Hillsboro 0 Everett 6. Jose Martinez started and went one inning before being removed for unknown reasons. Blake Forslund followed and allowed 2 runs over 4 innings with 7 strikeouts, but that still earned him the loss. The offense produced just 2 singles and a walk.
Rookie: Missoula 13 @ Helena 4. The offense exploded for 13 runs in a whitewashing of Helena led by Jose Queliz who had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Yorman Garcia went 3 for 3 with 2 walks, a double and 2 RBI. Starter Blayne Weller was the beneficiary of the run support but he did a nice job allowing just 1 run on 2 hits over 5 innings.
AZL Rookie: Dbacks 2 Athletics 10. Starter Jose Gonzalez got roughed up to the tune of 5 runs in 2 innings, and the offense could only counter with 2 runs. The bullpen wasn't much better as the Dbacks walked 12 batters overall. The offense provided just 4 hits with 2 coming from Sergio Alcantara.
