Snake Bytes, 6/13: Corbin Still Undefeated

Despite not having his best stuff, the Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin remained undefeated after the offense put together 20 hits in an extra inning affair to take the rubber game of the series.

Quick Quotes

"It was good. We all know that was very intense last night, little bit ugly, it's not something we want to do. It happens from time to time in the game and you move on. Both teams moved on and we played against each other. It was good. I appreciated it."

Kirk Gibson on moving on after the brawl

"The guys weren't satisfied with one run, they went out and got a bunch of runs."

Heath Bell on the 4-run 12th inning for the Diamondbacks

"I didn't think I was really missing my spots other than I left the changeup up for the double. Other than that I felt all right. They were just putting some good swings and it was just one of those things where it just seemed like any pitch I threw they were getting a hit."

Diamondbacks Take Rubber Game

Patrick Corbin didn't look his sharpest, but he still remains undefeated on the season as the Diamondback offense pounded out 20 hits over 12 innings of play to take game three of the series 8-6. Heath Bell had another rough outing, allowing the tying run to come to the plate before managing to close the game out. Josh Collmenter got the extra-inning win.

Goldschmidt Getting Noticed

Everyone knew it was just a matter of time. There was just no way Paul Goldschmidt could continue at the pace he has begun the season and not start getting noticed nationally. Now, Paul Goldschmidt is garnering recognition as "America's First Baseman".

Puig Scratched

After the brawl on Tuesday evening, Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig was scratched from the lineup on Wednesdayevening with a strained right shoulder. Although there was no immediate mention of how that strain occurred, it should be pointed out that when he was hit by a pitch, it was off the nose and he hopped right back up and stayed in the game. However, he was one of the more forceful individuals involved in the bench-clearing scrum later in the game.

Post Brawl Reactions

Kevin Towers was quick to point out that the Diamondbacks have much more to lose than the Dodgers as the result of the brawl, while columnists from around the nation have started to take issue with both teams' performance and behaviour.
