Quotes of the Day
"Once we got to 3-2, it was five fastballs, I think, and I'm just trying to fight. He's got that really good slider and split finger, so trying to make sure in case he threw that to stay back a little bit. I was able to get that last one and get it up in the air enough."
- Paul Goldschmidt on his clutch at bat.
"The hardest thing is just not knowing what it is. I've never felt anything like it before."
- J.J. Putz on his elbow issue.

Cahill has been throwing his cutter much less this year to great effect.
Gibby and Scully are buds, which is an awesome mental image.

When did the Mets become compelling?
J.A. Happ was hit in the head with a line drive. The injury looked eerily similar to the one suffered by Brandon McCarthy. Be forewarned, there's a gif in there that you may not want to see.
An interesting look at the value of free agency.
