Diamondbacks 6, Padres 7

Stay classy, San Diego - USA TODAY Sports

Well, at least the bullpen didn't blow this one. They didn't help [SnakeLines count: 3 runs], but they didn't give up the lead.

Is it time to be concerned about Wade Miley? Because in his last two starts, covering just 9.1 innings, he has now allowed 13 hits and 10 walks. And unlike last time, he couldn't slide out of trouble, as the Padres took him for four runs in five innings tonight. That cost the Diamondbacks a pair of leads: they got on the board first, with Miguel Montero's first home-run in over a month, and retook the lead with a two-run fourth, before a Yonder Alonzo homer in the fifth, gave San Diego the lead for good.

They then padded the lead, adding three more against Josh Collmenter and Brad Ziegler, and those insurance runs proved to be vital, as the Diamondbacks staged a late, late rally, Gerardo Parra homering with two out in the ninth, a three-run shot which pulled the visitors back within one (and provided tacos). But Martin Prado flew out, and it was just another one-run game, our 13th in 29 contests this season. Prado got two hits, while Montero and Paul Goldschmidt each reached base safely three times, but the defeat extended the Diamondbacks' losing streak to four.

soco will be along with the recap shortly, and tomorrow, it will be Patrick Corbin going up against Clayton Richard.
