Trevor Cahill struggled early against the Rockies offense on Wednesday afternoon, specifically against Carlos Gonzalez. Gonzalez hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first to give Colorado an early lead, and then had an RBI triple in the third, following it up by scoring on a wild pitch. Cahill seemed to settle in after that, but it was too much already. The Diamondbacks offense was never able to get to Jorge De La Rosa much, scattering six hits over 5.1 innings and only scratching out one run. It was all done by the time the bullpens were called in, with Tony Sipp and Will Harris each going 1-2-3 in their respective frames for Arizona. Rex Brothers came in to get the save for Colorado, giving the Rockies a 4-1 win to take the series, two games to one. The Diamondbacks split the road trip, and have an off-day tomorrow before coming home to face the Padres.
