Fang Food: Killer Bacon-Cheddar Dogs

Baseball season is here ladies and gentleman and with that comes the best time of the year for some backyard grilling! I have to admit that grilling is my favorite part of baseball season and to be honest it is my favorite part of any season. I will be sharing some awesome food coming from some of the best grillers and some easy creations of my own. Today's entry is Fang Food’s farewell to Spring Training. From experience, these hot dogs are amazing! The Killer Bacon-Cheddar Dogs are very simple to make and total time from prep to chow is only 30 minutes.

This recipe serves 8 so adjust accordingly.

Ingredients:

-8 slices of bacon
-8 hot dogs
-8 buns
-8 slices of your choice of cheese
-1/2 cup of BBQ sauce (varies according to taste)
-1 small red onion (diced)

Directions:

1. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat. Lightly oil grate, and set 4 inches from the heat (charcoal grill).

2. Place the bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain on paper towels.

3. Place hot dogs on grill; cook until browned, 5 to 8 minutes, turning once, or until done to suit your taste. Lightly grill hot dog buns.

4. To assemble sandwiches, place a slice of cheese and bacon on each roll. Add a hot dog, top each with 1 tablespoon barbeque sauce, or desired amount, and red onion.

Grilling this up is a walk in the park but the flavor is over the fence good! Try it with brats as well!
