I have a few thoughts on the upcoming coaching changes, would like to know what everyone else thinks..
Starting with Pitching Coach: Dave Duncan is wanting to get back into baseball, and from what I've read he is interested in the DBacks Job. If this is indeed true, this should be almost a no-brainer hire. Duncan is one of the best in the game and experienced with Tony LaRussa all those years.
Hitting Coach: This one I'd like to see go one of two ways.. If they are thinking of going outside the organization one name that is without a job is Rudy Jaramillo, he was highly respected until he got the Cubs job, and that didn't work out.
The other way I see this going, if he got along with the players, is Turner Ward. As the assistant hitting coach last year, he already has worked with most of the players, and could work, if they respect him already.
1st Base/Infielder: This one is an outside the box thinking, we've been hiring base running coaches as the first base coach, I am not sure if he is interested in coaching, but I think Tony Womack would be a good choice there. He'd fit with the younger players and would help bridge the gap.
3rd Base is the one area I have no clue whatsoever, one possibility is having Alan Trammell there, but I think Gibby likes him as his Bench Coach.
Well, this is my first full-length FanPost, and I hope to bring some discussion on this as the off-season has started.
