Sipp came to the Diamondbacks as part of the Trevor Bauer deal, and joins Matt Reynolds as left-handers operating out of the Arizona bullpen. The reliever put up a 4.42 ERA playing in 63 games for Cleveland last year, and has a 3.68 career ERA (109 ERA+) in 248 appearances, all with the Indians, since making his major-league debut in 2009. It was Sipp's first time going through the process, and he appears to have found it quite painless, saying, "It's one of those things where it was a number that was comfortable for both me and the club. They were mature about the conversation. Even my agent gave them praise as to how the process went."

The price is a little higher than the MLB Trade Rumors estimate of about a million dollars, and leaves the Diamondbacks with five players left to handle. If they don't agree to contracts with them by 1pm on Friday, the arbitration process will move forward, though negotiations can continue and agreements reached at any point. That seems the most likely case, given there have been no actual arbitration hearings involving Arizona players in the post-Colangelo era.
