As first announced by Gambo, outfielder A.J. Pollock has joined the team. The beat writers are also confirming a locker for first baseman Mike Jacobs. These promotions come the day after Reno finished their season with a victory in the AAA championship game against the Pawtucket Red Sox.
A.J. Pollock has had several stints with the team this season. In Reno, he hit .318 / .369 / .411. In 22 games with the Diamondbacks, he hit .250 / 302 / .339.
Mike Jacobs played parts of six seasons in the major leagues, accumulating 100 home runs and with a career line of .253 / .313 / .475. This year in Reno, his first with the club, he hit 18 home runs and offensive numbers of .279 / 362 / .486.
[Update] Another move saw the team designate Cole Gillespie for assignment. Gillespie had appeared in 50 games over two seasons for the D-backs, hitting .236, but appears to have been overtaken on the depth chart by both Pollock and Adam Eaton this season.
