Tyler Skaggs
LHP, 1-1, 4.43

I trust we all had a pleasant off-day and are back, invigorated and ready for the next series of battles - this set, taking on the Giants. Tonight gives Gibby a chance to pick up his 200th win as a manager: be particularly cool to do so against San Francisco and their ace, with one of our battalion of young pitching prospects on the mound. While we were off, the Cardinals beat the Dodgers, sending them two back, and Arizona 4.5 back, in the wild-card chase. Those two face off again in Los Angeles tonight, so we'll be keeping an eye on that contest.

'charmer on the recap, line-up after the jump, but not much more, as I had some struggling to do with the editor tonight, which ate into valuable research time...

  1. Adam Eaton CF
  2. Aaron Hill 2B
  3. Jason Kubel LF
  4. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  5. Miguel Montero C
  6. Justin Upton RF
  7. Ryan Wheeler 3B
  8. John McDonald SS
  9. Tyler Skaggs P

So, the "Ryan Wheeler hitting third" experiment comes to an abrupt end, after one game. This line-up looks a good deal more normal. We've seen Cain twice this year, with mixed results: six innings both time, but five runs in April, only one in May., so we'll see what version of him shows up. And, indeed, our offense....
