St. Louis and Pittsburgh both getting hammered, Giants already lost to the Cubs, so a good chance for the Diamondbacks to claw back some more ground, if they can beat the Dodgers tonight. Having overcome Kershaw yesterday, things should be easier tonight, as we've done a good job against Harang of late. We've seen him four times since the All-Star break last season, and in those starts, he is 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA against the Diamondbacks. Meanwhile, it'll be Cahill's fourth outing against Los Angeles this season, and he is 2-0 with a 2.37 ERA. This is perhaps the game where we have the strongest pitching edge but...you know... Cahill.
'charmer is off shopping, I think, so I'll be recapping this one. Line-up and news about our 2013 closer after the jump.

Looks like J.J. Putz may well be here in 2013. Speaking before tonight's game, GM Kevin Towers said, "He hasn’t done anything performance-wise to lead us to believe he wouldn’t be here," adding, "$6 million for an experienced closer is probably not a bad number." The way he has pitched over the last three months or so, I'd have no objection to that. Especially since it isn't my money. Well, not directly. :)
