How great the calendar's hold over us is. In May a .500 week wouldn't feel so bad. But it's the middle of August and the weeks are slipping away. Is the looming reckoning for the Diamondbacks being reflected in its nascent fanbase? After peaking at the end of July, the Fan Confidence is slowly down. It doesn't seem to be reflected in how people are talking, but perhaps we're all just avoiding the inevitable.
The week that was, after the jump.
Perhaps you saw that Chris Young and Justin Upton were thrown out during the same play against the Pirates last week. If not, well:
It's true. Chris Young and Justin Upton do everything together.

Some moves went down over the weekend, though I doubt anyone would call them particularly significant.
I didn't know
— JJ Putz Soul Patch (@JJsSoulPatch) August 11, 2012@jelmo6 is an ASU guy, glad to see him get the call. Hitting .344 with 73 RBIs at Reno. Excited to see what he can do.
That's okay, JJ's Soul Patch, I'll make sure to remind you constantly that Elmore went to ASU until you murder me in my sleep!
It's not nice to say, but we all pretty were thinking this about Zagurski being DFA'd:
I've never been happier than when I heard
— Patrick Larson (@cocktail81) August 11, 2012@zagurskisbelly was DFA!#winning
Saturday was the old Annual Snakepitfest. Apparently Chase Field took the "old" part literally.
Chase Field welcomed the AZ Snake Pitfest... 2011. Time travellers!

If I recall the following was said after Drew was caught stealing in the 4th:
THAT WAS ME, I SAID THAT :D : RT
— Charlie Gebow (@CLEFOAINTACRIME) August 12, 2012@emilydoesthings COTD: Does your wife know you're screwing us?
People will go out of their way to find ways to hate Upton. Comes with the territory, I suppose. Maybe he's still not a player but you're still a hater!
The moron who couldn't tell if the sun was shining on him is now booing Upton for not catching that ball.

It's nice to end the week with a win, especially when it's from one of the new faces. Hopefully we'll see many more from Mr. Corbin.
Great win today, got to love winning... Off to St. Louis...

There you have it, another week in the books. The D-backs went 3-3 but are still only 5 games back. How do you feel about the last week? And don't forget to sound off to @azfanconfidence.
