In a not-unexpected move, Patrick Corbin has been sent down to Reno to make room for Joe Saunders on the D'Backs 25 man roster. Joe was scratched from his June 22nd start against the Cubs because of shoulder soreness, and he has been on the DL since then. According to Nick Piecoro, the team isn't comfortable with Corbin continuing in the bullpen full-time at this point.
During Joe's DL stint, Trevor Bauer was called up and Daniel Hudson had Tommy John surgery.
With this move, Josh Collmenter is expected to continue being the long-relief man out of pen, and Mike Zagurski lives on another day. Saunders is scheduled to start this morning's game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
