Max Scherzer is taking some time off after the unfortunate death of his brother, who committed suicide a few days ago. I just happened to catch mention of condolences to Max and his family on my Twitter timeline just now from a friend of mine...after doing a Google search, I came upon this story, courtesy of the Tigers SB nation board:

I can't even imagine how Max and his family are feeling right now...such a shock and a sad time in their lives! My thoughts and prayers, as well as condolences, go out to the entire Scherzer family.
