Okay, let's see

Position players haven't officially arrived yet
so I’m not sure exactly what this tweet means. He’s walking on his own? He’s able to jog?

Well, according to boss man, I assume its this:
Probably the most notable thing is that tomorrow will see Stephen Drew taking ground-balls for the first time since the unfortunate accident which ended his 2011 campaign. For obvious reasons, he’ll be under close scrutiny by Gibson and the rest of the training staff, and may give us some – albeit very preliminary – indication whether or not he’ll be able to become part of the Opening Day roster.
From yesterdays link.
I got nothin'.
Yeah
Sorry, I just kinda presumed people read what I write… Silly me…

And I appreciate it
I guess that para was part of the 1%. I’ll have to call off my Occupy Salt River Fields protest now…

But
isn’t the point of the protests the 1%?

Okay, I'm a member of the 1%
No! Wait, What? I didn’t realize missing 1% of Jim’s articles resulted in riots in Athens and London, and violence in Oakland…
Reading Jim is a heavy responsibility.

Please come back, Baby Drew
I miss you.
You know what I don’t get? He never wears a shirt; he never wears shoes: Why hasn’t he died from lack of service?
Nick Piecoro posted about the limited roster space yesterday
Position players (13): Montero, Blanco, Goldschmidt, Overbay, Hill, Roberts, Bloomquist, McDonald, Blum, Parra, Kubel, Young, Upton.
Starters (5): Kennedy, Hudson, Cahill, Saunders, Collmenter
Relievers (7): Putz, Hernandez, Saito, Zieger, Paterson, Shaw, Breslow.
That’s assuming Drew starts the year on the disabled list. If he’s healthy, somebody’s got to go. I guess you’d assume it would be either Blum or Overbay.
If Drew were to be ready by opening day, then they would have to cut or send down another player. My guess would be that KT would DFA Blum and send down Shaw. Another idea would be to DFA Blum and Overbay and then use Kubel at 1B. That seems highly unlikely though.

You'd only need to cut one
In this scenario, since there’s 25 above + Drew. 7 relievers seems locked in, so if Bauer or Skaggs makes the team then an appropriate move to the pen + cut would have to be made somewhere. Blum seems the odd man out, though I wouldn’t object to Overbay being the one if it means Kubel playing some 1B to give Parra more time in the OF.

If it were up to me to choose between cutting Blum or Overbay
I’d cut Overbay. Parra is a lefty, could rack up some sweet 3-6-3 D.Ps and make one hell of a cutoff man.
Just some clown in section 126
That seems promising
I really hope he’s ready for Opening Day, and this seems like a start in the right direction

Cardinals, Suns, D-backs for life!
We should move Upton back to shortstop
it would also give Parra full playing time ’till Drew is ready to go.
And no, this isn’t at all related to my fantasy leagues.
That would be so awesome
Even if Upton was terrible it would still be entertaining as hell.

Well
he was actually a short stop coming up, so it might work. That’s a pretty big might, however

Realistically
it would take months of intensive training and game time for him to become a competent major league shortstop. That’s not a smack against him by any means, its just the realization that shortstop is a highly specialized defensive position requiring a wide variety of learned skills that don’t translate easily from the outfield.

Yeah
that’s what I mean by it’s a pretty big might. Could he? Yes, but if he hasn’t been working on it, then…
