Owings has signed with the Padres
We knew he wasn't coming back, and now we know where he is going. Good luck, Micah. We wish you luck against 28 of 29 baseball teams you'll face!

Micah Ownings will not be spared

Who’s idea was it to let him go to a division rival (that isn’t the Giants)?
I'm working my way to grumpy old curmudgeon status with all the grace I can muster.
How did this happen?
Well, he rebuilt his career here. Fare thee well, old friend, until we meet on the field of battle…

How did it happen?
We filled up the forty man roster before anyone thought to offer him a contract :-(

I think you're right
but there is no way some of these recent signings that filled up the roster are better ballplayers than Micah Owings.

Ehhh
I’d take most of our bullpen over him. At some point, even if you have open roster spots, there just isn’t room for more relievers on MLB deals.

in our bullpen over Micah
I agree with you
which says a lot, because most of the time, I would take him in a heart beat

Oh, fishsticks...
I was really hoping he would resign here. Even on a minor league deal. I wish him the best of luck.

His agent
Is a very smart man. Micah is perfectly suited for San Diego and Petco Park. Now about that Carlos Quentin defensive problem they have…

Yes, but not so glad for us
he’s a strong pitcher, and we’re not made better by his departure while the Padres have strengthened.
