What do Salt River Field, the Dbacks and Dow Jones have in Common?

Fairly comparable, and miserable images, if you ask me

(Dbacks & Dow Jones graphs illustrate performance between August 6-21, 2011)

Ever since I laid eyes on it, I felt troubled by the logo for "Salt River Fields at Talking Stick". The first time I saw this icon, it immediately reminded me of a business graph indicating a downward trend (and I can't believe I'm the only one who interpreted it this way).

I remember attending my first game there, wondering what the "genius" marketing executives were drinking the day they approved such a dismal, downward looking icon to represent the new Spring Training facilities for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Could it be the ancient Akimel O'Odham and Xalychidom Piipaash tribal ancestors had an insider tip on the performance of both the Diamondbacks and US Stock Market during the Ides of August? Did they have premonitions of our doom?

I say we veto the SRF@TS decision, and force them to reconsider a more positive icon to represent the future of the Diamondbacks, (and the Dow Jones Industrial Index).

This isn't very sexy, (and I am totally grossed out by snakes so I can't believe I am using this image) but if they could adjust the shape and slope of logo snake to be more positive..., more upward in nature.... more like this snake...

Just look at him! The icky, slimy, scary, snake that he is, jumping up into, and exploding through the month of September !!!

That, my friends, is the shape of a good, (albeit disgusting) snake!
