Waiver cleared Pitchers

So now that Marquis has a broke leg, perhaps we look for another pitcher on the good old waiver wire. Here's a list of pitchers who have cleared waivers, from ESPN's Buster Olney

Chris Capuano, Bruce Chen, Rodrigo Lopez, Jason Vargas, Chien-Ming Wang, Ted Lilly, Tom Gorzelanny and Carlos Zambrano.

Thoughts on any of these coming here? I would immediately rule out Rodrigo Lopez and Carlos Zambrano, and probably Chien Ming Wang as well. The rest of them are at least AS good as Marquis is, if not better. I wouldn't mind seeing Vargas, Capuano or Chen in a DBacks jersey if the price is right.

If he pitched for us. Thankfully, with his ridonkulous contract (hahahaha, oh, Dodgers…), that won’t be a concern of ours.

He would be the one player that if he were on our team, I’d heckle the crap out of and I don’t usually do that to our own players. I may not be fond of some cough cough TONY ABREU cough cough but I at least would keep from heckling him.

I like to envision a world where Cubs fans have to remember that their team could have spent $18 million on better players next year, but it’s going to Carlos Zambrano instead.
