SnakeBytes 7/6: Haboob Edition
Happy, Jenny?
Recaps:
-
[AZ Central] Arizona Diamondbacks drop series finale vs. Milwaukee Brewers - We gave up the winning home run to a guy who last hit a homer on May 20, and has been hitting .171 since then. Ugh.
-
[DBacks.com] Collmenter's gem squandered as D-backs fall - Our only run came on the first at-bat of the game- you aren't going to win very often that way.
-
[AZ Central] Arizona Diamondbacks OF Justin Upton has no hard feelings - J-Up said "The one good thing about it is I won't have to practice the home-run swing." Probably a good thing.
-
[Inland Valley Daily Bulletin] Davidson is getting a feel for first - With two good third base prospects sitting in Visalia, Matt Davidson and Bobby Borchering have been alternating back and forth between first and third.
-
[Dbacks.com] Kennedy has catching up to do in Final Vote - Time's running short, and things aren't looking good in the final vote. Hopefully, if the vote isn't enough, he'll still get picked as an alternate.
-
[DBacks Venom] Josh Collmenter Needs a Strong Outing to hold the 5th Starter Position - Six scoreless innings- I'd definitely consider that a strong outing.
Around Baseball:
-
[HardballTalk] MLB claims McCourt was still trying to loot the team as recently as April - Going on the standard surprise rating system of 1 to The Usual Suspects, I'm going to put this at about.... the ending of Green Eggs and Ham.
-
[MLB.com] Rangers pitcher Brandon Webb expected to be out for season with rotator cuff issues - And speaking of surprises.... Three straight seasons without pitching, other than opening day '09? I'd have to think even the most optimistic aren't expecting to see Webb back, ever.
-
[Big League Stew] Not interested: Burglar elects to leave Cubs tickets behind - Look, just because he's a criminal doesn't mean he doesn't have any taste. I think we can assume they weren't White Sox fans, though, as they would have taken the tickets and burned them.
-
[Baseball Nation] Phillies Rise To Top, Rockies On The Bottom - I might have ranked the DBacks a little lower, but I think we all agree on the Rockies being put in last place in this list.

My OOTP DBacks
are 19-15 under interim manager Don Baylor (they started out 3-20 under the fiery one).
I signed Manual Corpas as a free agent in the middle of this and I picked up and I signed Tim Wakefield off of waivers and sent Hernandez (who is 1 star in that game) down. The draft is in 2 games and I don’t foresee signability issues. :)
Days until Aug. 18: 135
The teev
would of been caught trying to sell the tix or using them.
Also, Webb, way to go bro.
If you'd have been a dog.....
They would of drowned you at birth.
