Hello Snakepitters! Long time no post for me, but I read every day. I have been reading a rumor on ESPN about Gio Gonzalez being a potential trade target for the Diamondbacks. The rumored deal is Gonzalez for Davidson and Pollock or Gonzalez and Balfour/Wuertz for Davidson, Pollock, and a lower level prospect. I, personally, would love either of these deals. Gonzalez is young, very talented, and controllable for a couple of years. I think at least one of our corner infielders is expendable and when you get value, you have to give value back, so I am perfectly fine with giving up Davidson, while Young is blocking Pollock anyways and we have Cowgill/Eaton for the future. Oakland, on the other hand, is clearly out of contention and I think Davidson and Pollock fill big holes for them for the future while their rotation is already very good and they have decent depth within.
