SnakePitTowersFest: June 5th

You are cordially invited to the quite a long time in the making, inaugural SnakePitTowersFest which is taking place here at SnakePit Towers on the West side of Phoenix on the afternoon of Sunday, June 5th. There will be beer. There will be grilled foodstuffs. And there will be a baseball game being screened, in which our Diamondbacks take on the Nationals. If you've been to previous events, like socofest or edbigheadfest, you know the concept. If not, now's your chance. Guests scheduled to attend* include the kishis, dbacksskins (+ one assumes, jennah), Turambar, battlemoses and edbigghead. Photo opportunities and autographs will be available. :-)

[* Subject to Powerball wins, unscheduled work assignments and better offers]

If you're interested in coming. drop me a line, and I'll add you to the list for when the location, etc. email gets sent out next week. Obviously, you should be someone who has a slight degree of presence on the 'Pit, as the day is basically going to be a live-action Gameday Thread, so will likely be filled with nerd references and +1's, though I guess you will need to bring any pictures you want to use and hold them when appropriate. I'll actually be passing around the laptop that day for a communal recap, covering an inning each, so that should be fun too. We have a pool, so bring your trunks and a towel if you feel like a dip [which, it being June in Arizona, you probably will!].

It isn't just for people I know, and I hope to put some more Snakepitter faces to names for those whom I recognise by their posts. Applications there should be accompanied by the names and address of three references from prominent public figures like judges or senior police officials, and a $30 check to cover the cost of the background and credit check. Nah, I'm kidding. I only need two references... Ok, not quite, but you know that line about treating the SnakePit as if you're a guest in someone's home? Now, I trust I need hardly add, you actually will be....

Should be a nice warm-up in advance of SnakePitFest at Chase a couple of weekends later, so look forward to seeing some of you there. And if we've run the winning streak to 20 or so in the meantime, so much the better!
