Sweep! In the absence of any Diamondbacks, the minor-league teams filled in admirably, winning all four contests played. Reno took both ends of a double-header from Salt Lake for the second time in three days, completing a five-game series sweep, and lead their PCL division by seven games. Make that 3-1. That's what I get for writing this in the middle of the ninth inning of the Reno nightcap. Overall, the affiliates outscored the opposition 21-15.

Snakelet of the Day:
Taylor Harbin (Double-A): 3-for-5, HR, SB, 2 R, 2 RBI

Triple-A: Reno 3/5 @ Salt Lake 2/6. Matt Torra threw a complete, albeit seven-inning game in the opener, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk, striking out two. DH Wily Mo Pena delivered his 13th homer and walked, while SS Cody Ransom reached base twice as well. Micah Owings started the night-cap, working five, with three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk. 2B Tony Abreu and C Robby Hammock each had a pair of hits and drove in two runs, as the Aces came back in the final frame - Abreu's single drove in the tying and go-ahead runs. However, Kam Mickolio allowed all five batters faced in the ninth to reach, as the Bees scored three there to snatch victory.

Double-A: Mobile 6 @ Jacksonville 5. Beginning with Your Daily Goldschmidt, Paul got the BayBears on the board early, delivering a three-run shot (his 12th) in the top of the first, to give them the lead before an out had been recorded. He finished the day 1-for-4. However, the Suns came back, taking the lead 4-3, but so did Mobile...and Jacksonville again. The net result: 5-5 in the ninth, where Jacob Elmore's fielder's choice scored the go-ahead run. Bryan Shaw locked down the win for Leyson Septimo, who pitched two scoreless. CF A.J. Pollock had three hits, and SS Taylor Harbin had a good night too, homering in his three hits and scoring what proved the winning tally.

A-ball: South Bend 7, Fort Wayne 2. Bradin Hagens had a good start, holding the TinCaps to two hits in six innings of work. He did walk four, allowing an earned run, and struck out four. He and a pair of Silver Hawks relievers limited the opposing batters to four hits, all singles. 1B Yazy Arbelo powered the offense: his pair of doubles drove in three of the South Bend Runs, and those two extra-base hits were matched by SS Zachary Walters, who also walked and scored three times. C Raywilly Gomes picked up two knocks and a walk, while CF Ender Inciarte and LF Bobby Stone worked a couple of free passes each.
