Diamondbacks Sign Albaladejo
I just read on MLB Rumors that the Dbacks signed another reliever, Jonathan Albaladejo. Pitched in Japan last year. Pretty so-so in four years with the Yankees and Nationals. KT sure loves his relief pitching depth. If you don't pitch well in the Dbacks bullpen, there's a bunch of guys right behind just waiting for their chance. I can think of worse problems. 29 years old, right hander, lots of walks, fair K/9. I don't have any details on the contract. Says Mets were a finalist for him as well. Maybe Albaladejo didn't notice how many relievers we have now.

I'm going
to have to spend all off-season practicing how to correctly pronounce his name on a consistent basis.
Tomorrow is another day.

Fun
name if nothing else. If he can refine his command and improve his control, he’ll turn out pretty well I think.

Probably
I think someone did a post about that and came to the conclusion that it seemed to be a requirement to become a Dback Pitcher

Well
we’re expecting the D’back pitchers to combine for 15 home runs next year, but as a reliever, he’s not likely to get too many at bats anyway. However, with the FO trading away the bench, who knows?
Is it mid-February yet?

Trading/letting them walk away
we might have a bench made up of relief pitchers. That’s one way to save money, I guess

Well, with a name like Albaladejo
I have to figure he has Portuguese ancestry and that he can play Conde Claros on the lute.
Is it mid-February yet?
Alba La Dejo
Say that fast, once, drunk.
If you'd have been a dog.....
They would of drowned you at birth.
Say it fast,
once, sober. Still impossible

He's still someone we signed
and is officially a Diamondback. Not even a “wow, that’s an interesting name” or a “well, more bullpen depth” comment? Just…I don’t care. Thanks for adding to the conversation.

No need to be rude here...
I just haven’t been too happy with the acquisitions I guess…
And since I can’t pronounce the guy’s name that well, I’ll just refer to him as ObLaDeObLaDa (Life Goes On…)
I miss you Bazooka Joe!!!

Is it possible the D'backs see him as a potential starter?
Maybe they want to give him a shot at the starting rotation, not necessarily add him to the bullpen?
According to Nick Piecoro
We’re still looking for a starter…I say RE-SIGN JOE!!!
