As my board might give me away (and as I've posted before) I've been attending the Rawhide games since the Dbacks arrived in Visalia a few seasons ago; and have been a season ticket-holder for the past three seasons. Accordingly, I've seen a few guys go all the way to the big club and while others fought and stumbled as they've been promoted, traded, or released. I'm not into the "metrics" nearly as much as a lot of board members. In fact, I rarely assess a positon player (statistically) other than on the basis of BA, OBA, W-S ratio and OPS. My main attention is to "presence on the field" (the way a player goes about the game, in general terms), how the guy plays his position, quality of at-bats. To some extent, I factor in age/years of pro experience for the A+ level. For pitchers, stats do seem to influence me to a greater extent. Again, I look at age, quality of pitches (are they at/above what can be expected at the A+ level?), composure, fundamentals of playing the position. So far, I've been fairly consistent in my predictions to my fellow fans around me; and I mean that in a positive way. LOL.
Which brings me back to what I really want to get at: who here actually attends which Dbacks minor league clubs on a regular basis?
